Man and his Quest for Satisfaction and God

‘”The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; He looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.” (Psalms 14:2, New Living Translation).

A baby is born without knowledge, is dependent on his parents and, has a natural urge for self-satisfaction. Such urges are natural and not morally wrong. A child is also aware of the existence of God (Romans 1:21). It is intended that the child responds to his ignorance/dependence and his awareness of the existence of God and, precisely because of this, seeks God (Acts 17, Psalms 14:2). In this way, he will learn to love God above all and his neighbor as himself (Matthew 22:37-39).

The devil and societies directed by the devil (2 Corinthians 4:4) act on this human urge for self-satisfaction and want that man chooses a “shorter” way (Matthew 4). This selfishness does not lead to a final satisfaction but it leads to death (Romans 6:23, James 1:14-15).

Man should not allow himself to be numbed by his own sins or the deceit of others (1 Timothy 4:2) but he should repent and return to God (Acts 17:30) – return to Christ, the Good Shepherd who gives life in abundance and even gave His own life (John 10:10-11)! – According to the Bible, atheism is considered to be a purely foolish opinion (Psalms 14:1). It is ignoring the natural awareness of God (Romans 1:21). The consequences are totally clear. Just to name a few: “being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful” (Romans 1:29-31, New King James Version). This is why the Bible gives us the following useful advise: “Honor God and obey His Laws. This is all that every person must do.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13b, New Life Version).

A man/woman who fears God and searches for Him from his/her ignorant position, will find Him to be his most valuable Teacher and Friend for this life and the afterlife.’
