Text for Evangelistic Crusade

« In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth » (Genesis 1:1)

« And God saw that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. » (Genesis 1:31a)

And even though our bodies die, because our first parents rebelled against God (Genesis 3:24), after Satan rebelled against God (Ezekiel 28:15), God still creates every new-born human being as an innocent being. As it is written : «The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son : the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him(self) and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him(self)» (Ezekiel 18:20b).

Yes, the devil, satan, might try to deceive you.
Yes, those people who chose to rebel against God, like prostitutes, murderers, thieves, liars,… might try to deceive you…

But they can only have an influence on you, just like we can choose to be influenced by God’s majesty , which we can see in nature (Romans 1:20), in messages of evangelists (Romans 10:14) and in the fact that we all have a conscience (Romans 2:14-16).

God gave use a conscience (// //), so that we can understand what is good or evil in His sight.
God gave us a free will, so that we can choose to do evil (that is : break our innocence) or good (remain innocent) (Genesis 2:17, Joshua 24:15, Matthew 23:37).

To put it in different words : you can choose to follow God or the devil.
You can choose to obey God’s law or you can choose to disobey God’s law (Genesis 2:17, Exodus 20, Joshua 24:15).
Such disobedience is what we call sin (1 John 3:4).

The Bible says that « He that commits sin / rebels against God is of the devil » (1 John 3:8a).

So, sinner, the first time you sinned, you became a sinner. You were adopted, or wilfully abducted by the devil. (// //) You are now slave of the devil, a slave of sin because you chose to commit sin! (John 8:34)

As the Lord Jesus Christ said to sinners: «You are the children of your father, the Devil, and you want to follow your father’s desires. (…) When he tells a lie, he is only doing what is natural to him, because he is a liar and the father of all lies. » (John 8:44a,b)

« Jesus also said: « I am telling you the truth: everyone who sin is a slave of sin! » (John 8:34)

You see… In the beginning doing sin is fun… but from the first time you sin, you cannot stop sinning… no matter how hard you try to obey God by doing good.
It is like a drug addiction of which you cannot get rid of. No matter how much you want it and how much you try your best… (Matthew 23:27, Galatians 2:16,21;5:4;John 8:34,1 John 3:8).

Oh sinner! You are now  in bondage! The bondage which YOU have wrought upon yourself.

It is like a tree, which starts to grow bigger and bigger and which will carry more and more bad fruits. Jesus said that: « Every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit! » (Matthew 8 :17-18). YOU ARE IN BONDAGE, A SLAVE OF SIN. AND YOU CANNOT GET OUT OF THIS CYCLE!

Oh sinner! What I have just said can be summarized in the following way: « You have a hard and stubborn heart, and therefore you are making your own punishment even greater on the Day when God’s anger and righteous judgment will be revealed! (Romans 2:5)

There will be a righteous judgment! God will not hold innocent people guilty!

But your God-given conscience reveals that you have terribly sinned against God and your fellow-men, and are therefore a terrible sinner, doesn’t it? Therefore you deserve a great punishment!

Our bodies will all die… and after this comes God’s terrible judgment!
Oh wretched sinner! The wrath you have stored up, will be poured out on you, on the terrible Day of God’s judgment!

The Bible makes very clear what that judgment will be like!

« Cowards, traitors, perverts, murderers, the immoral, those who practise magic, those who worship idols, and all liars – the place for them is the lake burning with fire and sulphur, which is the second death » (Revelation 21:8).

But, oh, addicted, hell-deserving sinner! There is a way out of this cycle of sin!

Although I was a terrible sinner, although I have despised God for many many years, He still loved me! (x) « For it is by God’s grace that I have been saved through faith. It is not the result of my own efforts, but it is God’s gift! I cannot boast in how much I tried to be released out of my own self-made cycle of sin! (cf. Ephesians 2:8-9) God had mercy on me, who put my trust in Jesus Christ, because He wanted to have mercy! (Romans 9:15-16) This was His own choice, which I did not deserve! (Ephesians 2:8, 1 Timothy 1:15)

The Bible teaches that although you are a terrible, vile sinner, although your sins prove that you have despised God for many many years, God still loves you and wants to have mercy on you! « For God so loved the world (that includes you), that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever (again, that includes you) believes in His Son Jesus Christ (and what He has done on the cross) will NOT perish (or face the terrible wrath of God, which is reserved for unrepentant sinners) but will have ETERNAL life! » (John 3:16)

In other words: ⌠ God let His Son Jesus Christ die the most brutal death on the cross… He suffered, bled and died and was resurrected, so that ALL of you can be forgiven and be put right with God!⌡ (X 2 – AGAIN! -)

Will you turn from Satan to Jesus Christ? Will you turn from God’s wrath to God’s mercy?
Do you understand that His mercy is also available to you, as a free gift?

The Bible says that « God has been patient with you, for He does not want you to perish (in the lake of fire)! Instead, He wants all of you to come to repentance! » (2 Peter 3:9)

He wants to you to turn from your sins and demons to Jesus Christ!

« If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you your sins, and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness (and sins)! » (1 John 1:9)

If you confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe that God raised Him from dead, you will be saved!
The faith of your heart brings justification and the confession of your mouth brings salvation! (Romans 10:9-10)

Are you ready? Do you want to be put right with God?
Come to the front, confess your sins, leave them behind and declare Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour (and be baptised). After this, follow Him, all the days of your life!

Would you come to the front? Come!

This is the day in which you also can be saved, no matter what transgressions you have committed against God! Confess your sins right now (and get baptised)!

Repeat this prayer after me:

« Jesus Christ, I am fully responsible for the sins I have committed! But thanks to your undeserved mercy, I can be put right with God! I have sinned! I have sinned! Oh, Jesus, have mercy on me, a wretched sinner! Forgive me! Forgive me! I believe that you died for me on the cross! I believe that you rose again and I believe that, therefore, my sins can be washed away and I can be put right with God!

I make the decision, to follow you as my Lord and Saviour, now and forevermore!

The Bible says that «  As many as received Jesus Christ, to them He gave the power to become children of God, to them who believe in Jesus Christ! » (John 1:12) Thank you Jesus, that I am now forgiven and set free from my sins! I am now no more a child of the devil but a child of God! Thank you Jesus! »

Here is what I still want to tell you: (get baptised by immersion in water), read the Bible every day, pay a regular visit to other Christians and GO AND SIN NO MORE (John 5:14; 8:34, 1 Corinthians 15:34)!
