Why I love My Local Church

I thought of not sharing this article here, because I gather together in a non-English speaking church in Belgium. But then I thought: “Maybe this article will help you to look at your church more positively, to be more loyal to your pastor and to love your church more!”

I go to an independent Pentecostal church called “the Ark” in Diest (Belgium).
I feel attracted to this local church, more than to a certain denomination.

Here are 3 reasons why:

    • Love: from the first moment I went to this church, there was always an atmosphere of love and companionableness. The pastor and the members have always received me with open arms. I was and I still am very thankful to God for the family He gave to me.

    • Good pastoral teaching: the theology of the pastor does not consist of antinomianism (“just accept Jesus, just have faith” – now do whatever you want -) but, among other things, it also consists of doing the will of God, after conversion.

    • Emphasis on holiness: the pastor and the congregation try to live in holiness, in obedience to the will of God.
